Zero Crossing Detector (Inverting)
A zero crossing detector or ZCD is one type of voltage comparator, used to detect a sine waveform transition from positive and negative, that coincides when the i/p crosses the zero voltage condition. In the following section we will be looking into Inverting ZCD.
Working of zero crossing detector (Inv) circuit
- Working of ZCD can be easily understood if you know the working of a basic Inverting opamp comparator.
- The positive terminal is grounded.
- The output is driven into –Vsat when the input signal passes through zero to positive direction.
- Conversely, when input signal passes through zero to negative direction, the output switches to +Vsat.
